The Best New Treadmills for Runners -- L8 Treadmill Review

"This thing focuses on what’s important: the feel of the run. In testing, it proved to be the quietest, and the thick four-ply belt made for ninja-like footfalls. " -- RW Reporter, Kit Fox

FIT PROF

November 2013

Based in Randolph New Jersey, Landice is very proud of their legacy. As a second-generation family business which began in 1967, Landice is one of the only cardio equipment manufacturers who engineers, tests and assembles their products in the USA. And with more “Best Buy” awards than any other brand available worldwide, Landice is in a class of their own.

Built to commercial-grade spec, the L7 Pro Trainer represents the culmination of Landice quality. With its whisper-quiet 4 HP continuous duty motor, rust-free, aircraft-quality aluminum frame, 20” x 58” surface featuring VFX and Pro Trainer console, it should come as no surprise to know that this Landice is one of the very best treadmills on the market and the 2014 FIT PROF Head of the Class BEST BUY treadmill under $4,000 for the second time.

Feel the breeze from the perfectly tuned fan. Watch the animated runner tick off miles on the console's full-color screen, which sits between beautifully simple, easy-to-use buttons. If the animation isn't enough, pick your head up and gaze at the 15-inch-screen LCD TV straight ahead of you. It has a DVD player built in, just in case you're going to be here for a while. Or look down, below the fan, to where your iPod sits docked above the console screen. Chest-thumping sound pours from stereo speakers, jamming your power song as you stride across the inch-thick deck. Set the speed faster. The motor caught right up, didn't it? Same with the incline--make any changes and this machine is on it.

Landice L8 Cardio Trainer
Simply put: The L8 can take a pounding. While many of the other units in this review are made from steel, the L8 is constructed from super-strong, aircraft-quality aluminum--delivering durability that's ideal for runners who push their equipment to the limit.

Landice L7 - Executive Trainer
“If you want the best - and can afford it - the L7 is the bad boy. ”

“With sold design, VFX shock-absorption system to soften impact, a rustproof aluminum frame and a four-ply belt, it's designed to handle the pounding of a lineman.”

“But the L7 has a sensitive side, too: A magnetic foot-plant monitoring system that corrects belt speed 30,000 times per second to eliminate belt surge. Electronics include six built-in and five user-defined programs, along with a sophisticated, yet easy to use, display with interactive graphics such as lifelike computer animation and a training calendar for up to six users. Also included is a fully automatic heart rate control program and wireless heart rate.”
